Okay, it's Friday the 13th! I leave on Sunday! My day? Manic! Same as every other day since I finished work on 29th April. No longer employed, planning the adventure of a lifetime for about ten years and there's still not enough time!

It took three and a half months but my Australian passport finally arrived.....five days before departure! It would've made sense to use it as it seemed easier to get through Iran and I was heading to Australia anyway. But it soon became apparent - With potential difficulties getting a visa in time, FCDO* warnings about the dangers of travel there, unpredictable and sky high shipping costs further down the line, my timescale and budget, the land border of Myanmar still being closed due to COVID and the cost of a Carnet** needing to be taken into account - that I had to make the inevitable decision to skip it altogether. Yet again having to drastically change my already drastically changed plans......and with only two days to go before I leave!......

"Aargh!! Where's my pen!?"

Frantic squiggles over clean page, consternation, concentration, clarification, decision made!..... New plan!... Ride from UK through Europe, Eastern Europe, Balkans, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, etc. turn around, ride back! Stay in UK 10 days, plan, spend time with loved ones. 31st July, catch plane to Pakistan. Country hop by air, ten days in each - India, Nepal, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia - Hire motorcycles, travel to borders originally planned for as if on own bike. Arrive Australia 30th September, buy bike, catch up with friends and family, travel for a bit, onward to New Zealand, tour for a bit. Arrange to get bike in or to South America, travel for a bit, continue with original plan. Onward to UK, own bike to Spain, Gibralter, Morrocco and back! Journey completed!...That's the plan!......

"Too easy!...."

No time today, I'll worry about all that in July, it's almost time to leave. I'm looking forward to it with abundant and equal measures of anticipation, excitement and trepidation!.....

"Aargh!! Where are my keys?"
