Planning....who needs it?

I'll keep this as brief as possible. Basically I'm a frustrated singer/songwriter come novice motorcycle adventurer who has been an IT guy for as long as he can remember.

My five year plan for the "big trip" started in 2012, it's now 2022 and it's finally coming together; From dream to vision, from vision to plan from plan to re-plan to re-plan again then another re-plan just for good measure! It's quite a long story, I will not go into today but I do hope to put pen to paper about it some time in the future. For now let's say that it has been a huge journey already, even before I set a single wheel on that ferry to Rotterdam.

Okay, so I've finally sold up everything and if I should succumb to a dramatic demise whilst on my travels, after legal costs, neither my eternally patient and hugely supportive partner Kathrine, nor my boys, Dan and Matt, will get much more than a shed full of dead motorcycles and some old computer stuff gathering dust in the loft! However, I am finally able to have my long awaited gap year which I would love to share with you for a while.

...If you're reading this today, know that I failed, monumentally, to keep up to date with the blog despite my best efforts. In the end, with the huge amount of travel I was undertaking, I simply did not have the time. So here we are in a new year and here am I keen to get on with it....

I hope you enjoy the ride all be that, for the most part, it's in hindsight, where everything has so much more clarity and is so much easier.
